Kindertransport Memory Quilt Square

Quilt 1, Square 16

Artist: Adrienne Behrendt

My father was born in Daniz in 1930 and was forced to flee to England when the Nazis invaded in 1939.

This is the emblem of Daniz. I believe the emblem comes from a time when Daniz was a large seaport. That’s the only reason I could think of for what looks like Neptune with trident and a sea monster.
