The KIndertransport Journey Trip

JULY 1-14, 2019

KTA Members of all generations are invited to join an intimate (20 people maximum) trip loosely following the Kindertransports' trip to safety. We will start in Vienna, travel by train to Berlin, then Amsterdam, Hook of Holland where we will board the ferry to Harwich and travel by train to London. Special tours and unique programs designed just for us will take place in each city.

Leo Baeck Institute and Yeshiva University Museum launch an exhibition exploring this remarkable effort that saved some 10,000 children, many of whom never saw their parents again.

Remembering and Rethinking: The international forum on the Kindertransport at 80

APRIL 15-16, 2019 9AM-5PM

The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) will bring together scholars, educators, policy makers, journalists, refugees and survivors to mark the 80th anniversary of the Kindertransport. Sessions will emphasize emerging research and discussions about its legacy today. Kinder will have an opportunity to connect with one another and share their own experiences.

The Kindertransport, 80 Years Later

APRIL 10-12, 2019

The New School's College of Performing Arts, the New School for Social Research, The Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility, and the KTA present

3 Days of Performance, Thought, and Discussion in Remembrance of the Kindertransports.

Events include panel discussions, film screening and discussion, and the New York City Premiere of Last Train to Tomorrow, the Carl Davis song cycle on the Kindertransports.

Join curator Ilona Moradof on a tour of Kindertransport – Rescuing Children on the Brink of War, illuminating the organized rescue efforts that brought thousands of children from Nazi Europe to Great Britain in the late 1930s. Explore the children’s difficult and often heartbreaking journeys through personal stories, artifacts and engaging media.
